Breeding goal: A pink with heavy gold ruffles that resists northern winters.
Expectations: I wanted some 'Judy Farquhar' genes to play with, for its heavy, textured flowers
and vigorous plant habit. Judy's colors are too pastel for my taste, 'Featuring the Gold' might spice it up, if not in the F1, in the F2 generation.
Both are enormous flowers, 7.5 and 7 inches respectively. Their progeny could lead to great stud plants for size.
